Pinelands exhibit

New Jersey PINELANDS:
Water in the Balance
Monmouth Museum, Lincroft, NJ

Co-curators Stan Cain, Avis Anderson and Erik Johanson, researched, designed, fabricated and installed this 2,300 sq ft exhibit.

The central theme is the sensitive aquifer that lies beneath the region and supports unique plant and animal life.

The exhibit utilized aerial and satellite images, a timeline traced the Lenape Indians to present day, raw materials and products made from pinelands industries, a wet cranberry bog, the coastal tribultaries, legends and a 10 foot Jersey Devil, a real sneakbox, a climb up fire tower with panoramic views and a DVD looped nature images.

Karen Jessup's botanical illustrations (and the first Pinelands license plate) were on display.

A qunitet of Pinelands musicians played for the opening reception.
